Yeah I'm home schooled. I enjoy it but it can be quite hard! I would home school my children if I have any and had the chance! No I don't have many verses for it but I believe that young, mainly younger children need there parents to guide them. There so easily influenced and if the wrong influence gets to them then they will have a hard time fighting the evil and pure pressers this world has to offer! But that doesn't mean that children who go to public schools aren't able to withstand that. But I think it is more safer to keep your young children as close to you for as long as possible and teach them all that you can teach. So when they go out in the world they will be able to be set apart and a light and can do many great things and not fall into sin!

I know long! But you asked and I replyed! Very Happy

What do you mean with crystal it can be hard? Am I really that heard to teach? LOL! Very Happy

Oh And I just hought of a verse!

Pr 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

As parents it would be our job to train up a child the way he should go! Wouldn't schooling be included?

Homeschool.... Empty Re: Homeschool....

Post by Abigail G. Thu Mar 12, 2009 1:24 pm

I am homeschooled, and yes, I am definitely going to homeschool my kids if I have any. One verse I can think of off the bat is Ephesians 6:4 "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." How can you effectively bring your children up in the Lord if they are away from you for eight hours a day in a secular enviroment? Hey, if you aren't teaching your kids what you want them to learn, someone else will teach them something you may not want them to become familiar with.

I had an interesting experience recently. I was visiting our neighbor, an elderly lady, and her middle-aged son was over also and he was talking and asking me questions. We got onto the subject of school and he asked where I would live after I graduate and all that. I replied that if I get married, I would live wherever my husband feels lead to go, because if he stays in Missouri, I stay in Missouri, and if he goes, I go.
That seemed to mess with his mind a bit and he said, "Well, it seems to be the other way around nowadays. Usually it's wherever SHE wants to go!" Then he asked, "So did you get that from your mom?"
I said that I kind of did, but that was what I believed God wants. He seemed to understand. Then he asked me if I liked homeschooling and I said I loved it. He asked if my mom had been homeschooled and I said no. He asked if my dad had been homeschooled and I said no. Finally he asked if I planned to homeschool my kids and I said YES. I think I gave him something to think about for the rest of the day, and praise God that I could be a witness for a godly family.

That is awesome! I've had some experiences like that before! Isn't it awesome that we can stand out and have a good reason for it! It makes people turn there heads and say look at the family aren't they weird the way they live? But look there so happy! And then they want to talk and it just opens up door to witness to them with you life and the way you live it! It awesome!

Yeah, I have people ask me why I do homeschooling and if I like it...they always seem to think, because I'm homeschooled..I'm not smart or something. But when I talk to them, tell them about what I do and am learning...they actually seem impressed!
And that's really awesome Abigail! ...Very Happy

Hi, Josh!
Yup, I'm homeschooled. Very Happy (hm... I bet you didn't know that jocolor). I'll most likely be homeschooling my kids, as well. The only verse that I could think of for this is proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it".

Yes, I'm homeschooled. There are some things I like about it - you're taught what your parents want you to be taught, you get to spend more time on things that are important to you, you can get ahead on stuff you're good at and take time on stuff you're not so good at Smile, etc etc etc. But sometimes I think I might do better in a classroom environment. I take Mrs. V's biology class and I'm doing better in that than any other subject, just because there's a REAL teacher and other students. So I might actually prefer some sort of Christian private school...but that's wishful thinking at the moment. As for whether or not I'd homeschool my kids, the answer is that yes, I'd probably start out that way and then, as they get older, give them the option to go to a Christian school if they prefer that. I mean, it's not like schools are B-A-D...
